At Service Foods HOME we’re proud to be a family run business and we're 100% NZ owned. For over 35 years we’ve been known as the company behind every great chef, and now we’re getting behind everyday New Zealand families.

Combining our years of experience with logistical expertise, a passion for great ingredients and a nose for hunting them out, we’re bringing our butchers, growers, wholefood specialists and makers to your place.

Our company is founded in food service – supplying the country’s leading hotels, restaurants and caterers with the best, freshest and most exciting product, at the best price. We’ve travelled the country and the globe to source the best ingredients, and we’re proud to have a consistent supply chain cemented in the long-term relationships we have with our producers.

We’re utilising these same professional systems to open our services to the public, giving everyone access to quality, range, convenience and the safety of contactless purchase and delivery – all without blowing the household budget. COVID-19 Response

The health and wellbeing of our people, partners and customers is everything to us. Our teams and supplier partners adhere to strict hygiene protocols, both at our packing facilities and throughout the supply and delivery chain. In response to the current Covid-19 crisis we have stepped these protocols up even further, working in accordance to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines to ensure the safety of our customers and our people. This is an ever-evolving situation and we are constantly monitoring it and amending our processes according, to ensure we remain at the forefront of the government’s health and safety guidance.

On top of our usual strict hygiene practices, we have put the following procedures in place:

  •  All staff wear gloves at all times on site, and change them regularly throughout their shift.
  •  Packing teams wear gloves and face masks with a min distance of 2.5m and extensive sanitisers around the building.
  •  Our trucks are sanitised inside regularly, and our drivers are sanitising their hands regularly.
  •  No one is to enter any of our premises if they have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
  •  No one is to enter any of our premises if they have been potentially been exposed through close contact with a person in self-isolation for 14 days.
  •  No one is to enter any of our premises if they have any flu-like symptoms.
  •  Where possible staff who can work remotely are doing so.
  •  All staff with a lowered immune system, over the age of 65 or who are pregnant have been requested to self-isolate.
  •  No team members are allowed to enter the premises unless they are rostered on to shift.
  •  Lunchrooms have been limited to 2 people at time with a minimum of 2-metre distance between them.
Health and Safety

Our Service Foods fleet, Distribution Centres and Processing Units are all temperature controlled and the cleanliness of our operations and vehicles are second to none. Each Distribution Centre and Processing Unit also operate a separate HAACP food safety accredited system as well as our nationally managed health and safety system. None of our suppliers are exempt from this either. As a condition of any supply agreement, they must buy in to the high standard of the Service Foods system with the understanding that they are then regularly audited to guarantee that their commitment is being met.

And it's not just about the food; a large part of that system is to ensure that all staff are protected from illnesses and workplace injuries. Everyone in the Service Foods network is constantly retrained on a strict process of operation to eliminate injuries and incidents from the workplace.
